DANCentricity is a new, interdisciplinary approach to dance engagement launching in Fall 2013. This unique program builds comprehension, confidence, and connection with dance among a young adult audience. Through a Cycle of interrelated activities, students connect with dance artists and performance. DANCentricity is also an opportunity for the field to better understand the audience habits of a young population. It will develop an informed constituency with the power to shape the future of dance as audience members, future arts administrators, policy makers, and cultural citizens. In the 2013-14 season, Gibney Dance Center will offer four cycles of DANCentricity to multiple schools throughout NYC.
